Meet Danielle

I’m Danielle Baselici, and I’m the founder of Garden State Plate.

Although I now call Sarasota home, I grew up in New Jersey - the Garden State. When it came time to name this business, I knew I wanted it to honor where I came from while reflecting the way I choose to cook today.

One of the mottos I live by is, “You are what you eat.” To me, that means the food we choose has the power to nourish not only our bodies, but our energy, our mindset, and the way we move through life.

Cooking has been a part of who I am for as long as I can remember. Long before Garden State Plate became a business, I found joy in preparing meals for family and friends. Food has always been my love language. It’s how I care for the people around me, and the kitchen has always been where my creativity comes to life.

Today, that passion has grown into Garden State Plate - a business rooted in seasonal ingredients, organic foods whenever possible, supporting local farms, and creating meals with intention.

I created Garden State Plate with women in mind because I believe nourishing ourselves isn’t a luxury - it’s a necessity. Whether you’re balancing work, family, or simply the demands of everyday life, you deserve meals that make you feel cared for, energized, and connected to the food on your plate.

For me, cooking is so much more than preparing a meal. It’s a way to connect with others, express my creativity, and bring people together. It’s a privilege to share that passion with others, and I’m excited for everything that’s still to come.
